MOSCOW, Sep 29 (PRIME) -- The E.U. plans to impose sanctions against Russian diamond mining giant ALROSA and ban imports of stones and precious metals used in the jewellery industry, the Politico newspaper reported late on Wednesday citing a European Commission proposal on a new package of sanctions.
The plan also includes a ban on imports of certain steel products from Russia and exports of certain semiconductors to Russia, the newspaper reported.
Head of the E.U. diplomacy Josep Borrell said earlier he had suggested the expansion of personal sanctions against Russians and companies of the country over the recent referendums in Ukraine.
